She is ready to cruise or go out to the islands today, and is in great shape compared to other Catalina 30s of the same vintage since she spent at least part of her life on fresh water in Lake Mead. I am selling Moxie because I recently had a kid so regular weekend trips to the islands are off the table for a while. Moxie is currently in Ventura, but a slip transfer is not available – you will need to get on the waitlist at the marina if you are interested in keeping the boat there.<br>\n<br>\nNot only is Moxie in great shape because of her time on fresh water, but she also has some great upgrades including:<br>\n<br>\n- Roller furler<br>\n- Lewmar self tailing winches<br>\n- B&amp;G chartplotter (Vulcan 7) and B&amp;G Triton 2 display with integrated autopilot, wind readings, and depth<br>\n- Victron Connect smart shunt for monitoring power usage<br>\n- Heavy duty racing main sheet traveler<br>\n- Barely used asymmetric spinnaker<br>\n- Aluminum spreaders (installed 2 years ago to replace the original teak spreaders)<br>\n- Cockpit bimini<br>\n<br>\nAdditionally, Moxie also comes with the following:<br>\n<br>\n- Working Universal M-18, 14HP 2 cylinder diesel that gets the boat up to 5.5kts in flat water<br>\n- Bottom last painted in December 2022, with monthly bottom cleanings ever since<br>\n- Two West Marine dual purpose (starting/house) batteries about one year old<br>\n- Two 25lb Danforth anchors each with about 200ft of rhode (chain + line)<br>\n<br>\nWhile Moxie is ready for your next adventure today, here are some of the upcoming projects I recommend for her new owner:<br>\n<br>\n- Reseal leaking cabin windows. This is something I did about 6 years ago, and now some of the windows I sealed need attention - Catalina Direct sells a great kit for this.<br>\n- Clean water stains off of interior cushions. The leaking windows have resulted in water stains on some of the interior cushions.<br>\n- Replace steering chain that connects the wheel to the rudder quadrant. I have the new chain already and it is included in the sale - there is nothing wrong with the existing chain, but it is likely very old.<br>\n- Replace the seal on the water intake pump of the toilet. The head works, but during water intake some water leaks out where the pump handle is.<br>\n- Recondition the headsail. The jib on the roller furler is in ok shape and could be used today without a problem, but the leech is starting to fray in a couple of spots.<br>\n- Investigate wiring to steaming light. A new light was installed and wired in December 2022, but it has never worked. The wiring from the DC panel to the mast is new and working, so the issue is likely at the butt connectors that join the light to the cable in the mast.<br>\n<br>\nI’ve had some of the best times of my life on this boat, including about 25 trips out to the Channel Islands, multiple trips to Santa Barbara, and even a cruise down to Catalina. While I’m sad to see Moxie go, I’m excited for a new owner to properly enjoy this wonderful Catalina
