Bicentennial edition constructed in 1976.<br>\n<br>\nKeeled cruiser/racer sloop with over 6ft of headroom, with a big boat feel. Started her life in the Puget Sound area, moved to Portland early 2000's and has been on the river since. I've owned her for a couple years. She is in good working order, but starting to show her age. She would be a great boat for someone wanting a project they can work on while still being fully functional, or someone looking to get started with a sailboat at a decent price. She comes with the original manual. We've done multiple overnighters this year, sailing and motoring. It’s a great boat (it's my second Newport 30), but we are looking to upgrade to something a bit newer.<br>\n<br>\nShe is currently moored on the Multnomah Channel. Transferring the slip should be no problem, or I can deliver her anywhere on the Columbia from Astoria to Hood River.<br>\n<br>\n or best offer.<br>\n<br>\nAll interior pictures are current and were taken this week. I will post more exterior pictures after doing some cleaning. Below you will find some details, I will continue to update as I have more time. Feel free to reach out with any other questions you may have about the boat, or to see more pics.<br>\n<br>\n- Paul<br>\n<br>\n<br>\nExtra key words: sailboat, catalina, Ericson, Olson, ranger, sail boat, yanmar, mercury, fishing, yacht, sailing.<br>\n<br>\n<br>\nEngine:<br>\n- Universal Atomic 4, late model. Gas Inboard. https://moyermarine.com/<br>\n- 1100 hours<br>\n- New plugs, points, rotor, cap, alternator belt. Regular oil changes.<br>\n- Run great, quiet, great access, easily pushes the boat 6+ knots upstream.<br>\n<br>\nSails:<br>\n- Mainsail: Clean, Older but still some life left. Partial battens, internal rope foot, internal luff slides. Sunstroke cover. Sail cleaned last year.<br>\n- Jib 1, Storm Jib: Good condition, a bit small for the boat.<br>\n- Spinnaker + Bag: Excellent+ shape, always stored offboard and rarely used. (We've never flown it)<br>\n<br>\nAll 4 Sails were inspected last summer by North Sails. They did minor repairs to leech and batten pockets on the main, and replaced a couple brass hanks. The rest of the sails are in good condition. The main ripped a couple stitches near the foot/luff on a hard gybe last week, but should be an easy fix. It has internal slides on the luff, and the top 2 are broken and need to be replaced (never been an issue for us, just makes it easier to douse). Mainsail has N 30-II markings at the top, and I believe it is the original sail.<br>\n<br>\nGalley:<br>\n- 2 burner gimbaled Stove and oven.<br>\n- Insulated Ice Box, with teak grill.<br>\n<br>\nHead:<br>\n- Jabsco manual toilet<br>\n- Holding tank, alarm.<br>\n- Doesn't smell, works great.<br>\n<br>\nRigging:<br>\n- All Standing rigging and chain plates in good shape.<br>\n- Back stay wire tensioner.<br>\n- 2x Jib sheets, 1x Main sheet, Boom Vang sheet.<br>\n- Main,  jib and spin halyards.<br>\n- Two single speed winches on mast, 1 single speed on deck, Two 2-speed winches aft.<br>\n- Boom vang.<br>\n<br>\nElectronics:<br>\n- AC System, with outlets throughout the cabin, and marine switch.<br>\n- Battery Tender.<br>\n- Two 12V battery system with marine switch (only 1 battery currently installed).<br>\n- Cigarette lighter socket.<br>\n- Running lights, bow stern and masthead. <br>\n- Car stereo system, CD player, Tape player with Aux input, outdoor and indoor speakers.<br>\n- Cabin lights.<br>\n- Bilge pump with float switch, with Manual/Auto/Off.<br>\n- Raymarine ST5000 Autopilot / auto-helm.<br>\n- Knot meter: Not connected/ not working<br>\n- Digital Depth sounder.<br>\n- VHF radio. Top mast antenna. <br>\n- Engine compartment fan, electronic fuel pump.<br>\n<br>\nOther:<br>\n- Cushions: original and clean. Cool 70's plaid design. They are our favorite part of the boat. Always stored dry in winter.<br>\n- Manual bilge pump.<br>\n- Danforth anchor, chain and rode, anchor locker.<br>\n- Blue dodger frame, assorted canvas pieces. Vinyl very dirty. <br>\n- Solar cabin fan.<br>\n- Force 10 Propane Cabin heater.<br>\n- Pedestal / Wheel steering, wheel lock.<br>\n- Large freshwater tank.<br>\n<br>\nStay tuned, more details to come!<br>\n<br>\nThe Bad:<br>\n<br>\n- Brightwork needs to be done.<br>\n<br>\n- The main gas tank is not connected, Using a temporary can as you can see in the picture. Main tank is OK.<br>\n<br>\n- There is a leak somewhere in the top deck, which is making its way down to the port side forward bulkhead. The port chainplate will need to be rebed, and the bulkhead area surrounding may need some minor work. This is a common problem with all Newport 30s of this vintage. We have tried to mitigate as much as possible by running dehumidifiers in winter. The bulkheads are still structurally sound.<br>\n<br>\n- The cabin hatch cover is wood, and starting to fall apart. We had a tarp over her last winter to prevent further deterioration.<br>\n<br>\n- The water temp sensor and oil pressure gauge don't work, the wires may just need to be reconnected.<br>\n<br>\n- The compass cracked and lost its fluid, will need to be replaced.<br>\n<br>\n- One window in the head is getting old, and has started leaking. We've been keeping the weep slots clear to help alleviate, and it also only drips into the sink so hasn't really been a problem<br>\n<br>\n- The engine box needs some work. The soundproofing material is starting to deteriorate, and some of the wood is missing.<br>\n<br>\n- Hatch slats starting to deteriorate, need
