Roomy. Com","text":"This is a very solid and comfortable liveaboard boat. She's a 1976 39' center cockpit Yorktown sloop. She's an owner build out and you can see the workmanship is solid, but not as nicely finished out as a typical commercial yacht would be.<br>\n<br>\nYorktown yachts are pretty hard come by as there were not many made and haven't been produced for years. They are reputed to be very strong and durable. People who own them tend to hold on to them. They are very easy to pilot and turn on a dime. They are also popular as liveaboards.<br>\n<br>\nThis particular boat is set up for living on and has served me very well for six years. It will need all new running rigging before it can be sailed. It will need some repair to the jib but has good sails tuned specifically for this boat.<br>\n<br>\nThe motor is a Volkswagen Pathfinder with about 130 hours on it. It runs like a dream, smooth and strong. It does need a new raw water pump, but the motor can be run and you can hear what great shape it is in.<br>\n<br>\nShe has a brand new propeller just coated with barnacle blocker and new zincs installed October 26. The bottom was also cleaned at that time. She's in serious need of bottom paint. Other than that the bottom is in exceptionally good shape as can be seen at <br>\nyoutube.com/watch?v=AlBzwbUfqd0<br>\n<br>\nShe has a huge deck for her size. I have entertained six people with a folding table on the deck. This is because I removed the boom to make more deck room and to allow for the popup cover you see in the pictures. She has a small deck atop of the dock steps which makes it very easy and safe to board.<br>\n<br>\nThere is a Magma barbecue both on the aft rail and another mounted to the dock steps/deck. There is an adapter hose and second propane tank that serves as a backup to the range/oven and a cost and eco-friendly fuel source for the barbecues.<br>\n<br>\nThe popup cover over the cockpit is not pretty but it's solid! It has been reinforced with 2X3s and angle iron brackets as can be seen in the picture looking up from underneath it. The cockpit and inside of the boat stay perfectly dry. It also allows for the cockpit to be used as storage. When we've had snow the snow slides off the sides and into the water, which was REALLY nice. It is well mounted and has withstood the worst of weather without incident. I replaced the tarps a couple years ago and I expect they will warrant replacing next spring. The boat motors around just fine with the cover in place.<br>\n<br>\nThe interior is roomy and comfortable. It is easily heated for comfort and it is DRY inside. The aft cabin features a full sided bed and quite a bit of storage. The galley has a two compartment sink and a three burner stove with an oven that heats evenly enough to bake a cake in. The propane tank is under the sink which is not recommended but has never been a problem.<br>\n<br>\nThe V berth is fitted with milk crates that were used one side for clothing and the other side for pantry storage. There is also a closet with room to hang clothes. I have a West Marine turbo dryer in there that I never unplugged. I just left it running constantly and my clothes always smelled fresh and clean.<br>\n<br>\nThere is also another small closet space in the salon that I fitted with a turbo dryer that also remains plugged in full time. I made it for a extra dry tool storage space, but the boat stays so dry my tools were fine just left in the cabin.<br>\n<br>\nThe head has just received a good two coats of Ezpoxy paint and Kiwi Grip on the floor. You can take a pretty long hot shower in there. The head is a VacuFlush that works well but has developed a very slow leak, presumably from sitting unused for the last few months. It isn't really a problem. It doesn't stink or leak water, it just cycles every now and then if left on. I just turn it off between uses. I repaired it with new seals and joker valves when I first got it and it has worked flawlessly until this recent development. I have a spare bellows, pump and pressure switch that will be included.<br>\n<br>\nThe AC circuitry was professionally rewired just before I purchased her and is in excellent condition. There is plenty of power access throughout the craft including in the cockpit. There are both 30 and 50 amp power inlets and 50' shore power cords included. The 50 amp service is a SmartPlug.<br>\n<br>\nThere is also a custom hatch cover that can be seen in the picture looking aft across the deck. It was built to hold a box fan and filter. This kept the air fresh and healthy during the smokey wildfire days we have has most summers lately.<br>\n<br>\nIn summary, she's a great liveaboard as is. She needs attention soon to protect the bottom with new paint. My intention when I bought her was to live on her and gradually bring her (and me) up to sailing speed. Unfortunately Covid and other health issues intervened. I believe it is still a very good subject for this
