Tornado is exceptionally easy to sail, steady and light on the tiller, even in stiff winds.<br>\n<br>\nWood, wood, and more wood!<br>\n<br>\n25 foot Tornado had a major refit done recently in Port Townsend; two larch hull planks on each side from fore to aft, also several new oak ribs as well as some sistering, all copper riveted. Plus, a new spruce masthead was crafted and scarfed into the existing spruce mast, along with a pair of newly crafted fir spreaders. Painting inside and out, topsides, anti-fouling, cabin planks, cockpit, mast, spreaders, boom, deck, bilge, cabin trunk roof, and also refinishing of mahogany transom with 12 coats of marine varnish. New chrome plated bronze cowl vent was added to replace an older damaged one. Restoration of the foredeck hatch lid, with new bronze dead light.<br>\n<br>\nShe’s super pretty as the photos show! More photos upon request.<br>\n<br>\nSails: Main, Folkboat class jib, and a genoa (foretriangle is rigged as a cutter).<br>\nStanding rigging: Expertly tuned before launch after the refit<br>\nMotor: Honda 5hp four stroke, long shaft, purchased new in 2021, and currently with less than 5hrs of running time. Comes with two Honda fuel tanks.<br>\nHardware: Tornado still retains her original bronze Folkboat winches, plus much of her original bronze mast hardware, including sail tracks, cars and cleats.
